The Indigo Theatre Project is a theatre company that strives to unite passion with purpose by producing high-profile readings to benefit thematically related charitable organizations.

Indigo was founded in the fall of 2012 when Nick Gereffi and Rachel Sussman realized they had a mutual love for many inspiring pieces of theatre they had never had the chance to see. So, they decided to present readings of those plays themselves, but resolved do more than simply re-produce the works. Nick and Rachel determined that by combining their love for artistry with their fervor for advocacy, they could develop something both potent and powerful.

"Thank you for bringing INTIMATE APPAREL back to life in such a splendid way.  Your generosity of spirit is a gift that will hopefully fuel the growth of Donor Direct Action.

Please continue to do the work that you're doing, it is necessary and greatly appreciated."

-Lynn Nottage, Author of INTIMATE APPAREL

"The Indigo Theatre Project is one of the best kept secrets in NYC. Rachel, Nick and Allison are creating wonderful events that celebrate playwrights while raising money for organizations like Theatre Development Fund to continue to provide free access to theatre for young people. They care, they listen and they deliver. A joy to work with."
